About Shopko

Shopko was founded by a pharmacist, James Ruben. When Ruben opened Shopko's first store in Green Bay in 1962, he envisioned a company focused on three main themes: quality, convenience and value. He saw the opportunity to combine health care services with a discount store. Shopko was one of the first large retailers to offer pharmacies and eye care centers in the stores. Shopko'a headquarters is in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  Annual sales at Shopko exceed $ 2.2 billion each year.  In 1991, Shopko became a publicly traded company.
